86 designated emergency evacuation sites (76 designated for earthquakes) and 86 designated shelters in the national open data. Saved on your device after your first visit, so it works offline.
Read before using this list (GSI’s own notes, translated):
This data is what each municipality registered about the evacuation sites and shelters designated by the mayor under the Disaster Countermeasures Basic Act (Art. 49-4 and 49-7). It may not be the latest, or some facilities may not be listed, so always confirm the latest details with the ward.
Understand the difference between a “designated emergency evacuation site” and a “designated evacuation shelter”, and that evacuation sites are designated per type of disaster.
The data is updated from time to time.
Designated emergency evacuation site (指定緊急避難場所): “a place to evacuate to urgently to protect your life from the danger of a disaster. Designated for each type of disaster, such as landslides, floods, tsunami and earthquakes.” Designated evacuation shelter (指定避難所): “a facility where disaster victims who have evacuated stay for a certain period after a disaster.”
