地域危険度Earthquake area risk

How Tokyo rates each neighbourhood (町丁目) of 豊島区 for building collapse and fire spread in a big earthquake. Ranks are relative across Tokyo’s 5,192 surveyed areas: rank 5 is the highest risk, rank 1 the lowest.

Overall risk ranks in Toshima総合危険度ランク · 83 areas

Rank 51
Rank 46
Rank 337
Rank 222
Rank 117

TMG: “building collapse risk” measures how likely buildings are to collapse or tilt from shaking, based on ground and building type; “fire risk” measures the danger of fire spreading over a wide area; the overall rank combines both with how hard rescue and evacuation would be (災害時活動困難係数).

避難場所・避難所Evacuation sites & shelters

35 designated emergency evacuation sites (35 designated for earthquakes) and 35 designated shelters in the national open data. Saved on your device after your first visit, so it works offline.

Read before using this list (GSI’s own notes, translated):
  1. This data is what each municipality registered about the evacuation sites and shelters designated by the mayor under the Disaster Countermeasures Basic Act (Art. 49-4 and 49-7). It may not be the latest, or some facilities may not be listed, so always confirm the latest details with the ward.
  2. Understand the difference between a “designated emergency evacuation site” and a “designated evacuation shelter”, and that evacuation sites are designated per type of disaster.
  3. The data is updated from time to time.

Designated emergency evacuation site (指定緊急避難場所): “a place to evacuate to urgently to protect your life from the danger of a disaster. Designated for each type of disaster, such as landslides, floods, tsunami and earthquakes.” Designated evacuation shelter (指定避難所): “a facility where disaster victims who have evacuated stay for a certain period after a disaster.”
